Frequently asked questions

What denomination are you or what denomination are you similar to?

We are a non-denominational charismatic church. We most closely align with Pentecostal churches.

Is your church family friendly?

Absolutely. We have a self-service nursery with direct access to the sanctuary and Sunday School for kids up to grade 6.

What should I expect when I visit?

On a typical Sunday service you will be warmly greeted, sing songs in the service, listen to a sermon, and visit with friendly folks afterwards. If it helps, you are welcome to watch a service online before you attend in person.

Are newcomers welcome and do I need to be a member?

Come as you are! Everyone is welcome and you don't need to become a member.

What should I wear?

We are a very casual church so there's no need to worry.

Is the church wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Our entire building is on ground level for easy access for those with mobility challenges.

Do you take an offering? Do I have to give?

Yes we do and no you don't. Everyone who gives to support the ministry of New Life Outreach Church does so as they wish. This is typically a form of worship done by those who call NLO their home church.

Can someone pray with me? Can I meet with a pastor?

We'd love to pray with you! Please contact Pastor Darren to set up an appointment or to plan to meet on Sunday. (pastor@newlifeoutreach.ca)

What We Believe

Mission Statement

New Life Outreach Church in Tappen exists to teach God’s Word in a way that applies to everyday life, to create an atmosphere of heartfelt praise and worship, to be a welcoming place of love and acceptance for all people, and to cultivate a community of prayer, healing, and restoration through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

Statement of Faith

We believe in one true God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, revealing God’s will and truth for salvation and daily living.

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return again in power and glory.

We believe that all people are separated from God by sin, and that salvation comes only through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith, not by works.

We believe in water baptism by immersion as an outward testimony of inward transformation through Christ.

We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, promised by the Father and received by believers, empowering them for Christian living and service. The initial physical evidence of this baptism is speaking in other tongues, as experienced on the Day of Pentecost.

We believe in the ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit, including spiritual gifts for the edification of the Church, such as healing, prophecy, and other manifestations of God’s power.

We believe in divine healing and restoration, provided through the atoning work of Christ and experienced through prayer and faith.

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, called to worship God, preach the Gospel, make disciples, and reach the world with the love and power of Jesus.

We believe in the blessed hope: the soon return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the saved and the lost, eternal life for those who trust in Christ, and eternal separation for those who reject Him.

We believe in living a holy life, devoted to God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and marked by love, obedience, and mission.
